Harvest of Hope. Making a Difference Together

The Harvest of Hope Dinner, held October 1st at the Marconi Centre, turned out to be an eye-opening and surprisingly fun event!

Did you know that Bel-Air Football Club supports the Caldwell Family Centre?

This is part of Bel-Air’s commitment to supporting our community and helping to “Make a Difference in the Fight Against Food Insecurity.”

Our club’s sponsorship helps provide nutritious meals, essential support, and hope to individuals and families in the Caldwell community.

As key supporters, Bel-Air was invited to attend the evening, and representatives from our Norsemen program Jean-Ann, Lorne, Guy, and Keith were there to represent the club.

To be honest, we arrived expecting this to be a typical dinner of thanks and fundraising. We thought it might be a little… well, boring.

Were we ever wrong!

We arrived early and settled in at our assigned table, Table 1 to await the festivities. After a live junior band entertained us with some great theme songs, we heard about the many programs, activities, volunteers, and people who make the Caldwell Family Centre such an important part of the community.

Then the MC/Auctioneer took over and brought an incredible mix of humour, energy, and enthusiasm to the evening.

And being at Table 1 had its advantages! We were the first of 17 tables to hit the buffet, enjoying buns, salad, cold meats, pasta, roast chicken, beef, potatoes, vegetables and a delicious selection of desserts.

The evening also included 50/50 and gift-basket draws, online and live auctions, and a very entertaining trivia contest. Everything was optional, but our table was definitely up for the challenge. We didn’t win, but we were pretty proud of our 47 out of 60 correct answers!

All in all, the Harvest of Hope was a fantastic evening. It was an opportunity to recognize the community organizations and supporters who help make the Caldwell Family Centre’s work possible, while raising important funds to support local individuals and families.

A special thank you to Alain and Nadia, who made us feel incredibly welcome throughout the evening.

Well done, Bel-Air! We’re proud to be part of a club that gives back to our community.
