The Brotherhood Runs Deep

This game was perfectly timed to start with pleasant weather and end just before the severe storm warning and heavy rain began.

There was gridlock after the game in the parking lot and down Woodroffe Ave. due to a traffic light malfunction.

This game began with the Norsemen receiving and from the outset it was apparent the players were here to dominate and win. When the Giants offense started their first series they ran into a very stubborn and determined defense.

Players produced 3 losses on the Giants downs for a total of 20 yards 5yd – #92 (Nathaniel Anna), 5yd – #44 (Daniel Demaren),10yd – #91/92. (Liam McLaughlan/Nathaniel Anna). This defensive play continued throughout the game by every player with only a few lapses where the Giants offense made some good plays.

Half way through the first, after Omar Mohamed (#8) recovered a fumble on the Giants 22 yd line, the Norsemen struck with a run by Joshua Olubajo (#2) for a TD which was converted by Jean-Marc Thompson Deschamps (#10).

End of 1st Quarter Giants 0 – Norsemen 7

In the second quarter the Norsemen offense exploded for 2 TD’s due to the exceptional running of Joshua Olubajo (#2), Charles Guei (#15) and Aidan Levett (#21) who got a TD because of the work by a solid offensive line .

A beautiful pass/reception by the QB Gabriel Zammar (#9) to Kingston Pappas (#5) for 40 yards led to a TD run by our QB . A convert and 2pt conversion both failed.

End of the 2nd – Giants 0 Norsemen 19.

The third began with the same RB’s making large gains on the field. The kick off was returned by #15 for 30 yards followed by two runs by #2 for 20 yards and then #21 obtaining a 1st down.

These were followed by a pass to Brett Proudfoot (#90) which set up the 2nd TD run for #2.

Then Brayden Murray (#12) scored on a quick out for the 2 point conversion.

The Giants fumbled the football twice when they were moving deep in the Norsemen end and they were recovered by Norsemen #10 and #44 to prevent the Giants from earning any points.

End of 3rd – Giants 0 Norsemen 27.

The entire defense continued its strong showing with some very hard hits that stifled any effort the Giants made. Then while deep in our end a snap went awry. The football was scooped up by #15 who somehow got out of the backfield and was able to maneuver through all the Giant players and race toward the Giant end zone. He ran for 60 yards but was stopped short. However on a subsequent play he was able to obtain A TD which was converted by #10.
